Every Chinese New Year, POSB together with DBS, have provided multiple channels for customers to obtain new and fit notes for festive red packets (红包). For CNY 2026, the banks have implemented a controlled, reservation-based system, supplemented by islandwide pop-up ATMs and priority walk-in arrangements.
1. Online Reservation for Branch Note Exchange
The online reservation system is the primary method for exchanging notes at DBS/POSB branches.
How It Works
- Customers book a specific collection window online.
- Exchange is done in person at the selected branch during the allocated dates.
- Reservations are first-come, first-served.
- Once all slots are taken, the portal automatically closes.
Reservation Windows & Collection Periods
- Window 1: Reservation opens on 27 January 2026 at 12:00am. Collection period will be from 3 – 6 February 2026
- Window 2: Resrvation opnes on 2 February 2026 at 12:00am. Collection period will be from 9 – 13 February 2026
Important notes
- Customers must collect within their assigned period.
- Missed collections may result in forfeited reservations.
- Popular denominations tend to run out quickly, so early booking is strongly advised.
2. Islandwide Pop-Up ATMs (No Reservation Required)
For customers who prefer self-service withdrawals, POSB and DBS will deploy temporary pop-up ATMs across Singapore.

3. Walk-In Branch Service (Priority Groups Only)
To ensure inclusivity, walk-in exchanges at DBS/POSB branches are reserved for:
- Customers aged 60 and above
- Customers with disabilities
Walk-In Dates & Hours
- 3 – 14 February 2026: During normal branch opening hours
- 16 February 2026: Branches open until 1:00pm only
This arrangement allows seniors and customers with accessibility needs to exchange notes without online reservations.

Making Reservation
- Decide early on preferred denominations (e.g. $2, $10).
- Book reservations immediately when the portal opens.
During Collection
- Bring required identification and banking cards.
- Arrive within your allocated time window to avoid delays.
Alternative Options
- Use pop-up ATMs if reservations are fully booked.
- Withdraw fit notes if new notes are unavailable.
