Things To Do This Week: Soak Up Mid-Autumn Magic, Hunt For Pre-Loved Finds & Discover Authentic Japanese Hamburg Joint

1. Celebrate Mid-Autumn at VivoCity, Pasir Ris Mall, NEX, Great World and City Square Mall

From now till 27 September, VivoCity’s Sky Park transforms into the enchanting Sanrio characters Moonlit Garden, bringing together Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, Kuromi, My Melody, Hangyodon and Pompompurin across six immersive themed zones. Expect glowing displays, larger-than-life installations and plenty of picture-perfect moments. Highlights include:

  • Main Attraction: Snap a photo with a towering 7m Pompompurin perched atop an oversized mooncake, alongside larger-than-life installations of Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, Kuromi, My Melody and Hangyodon located throughout the Sky Park.
  • Kuromi Carnival Kingdom: Features six Sanrio-themed carnival games at $10 per game, hop aboard the Mini Express Train ($10 per ride), or capture the moment at the Sanrio-themed Photo Booth ($8 per session).
  • Sanrio Retail Pop-Up, Level 1, East Court (now to 27 September): Sanrio fans can also browse a selection of official merchandise and collectibles.
  • Meet & Greets: On selected weekends, shoppers can meet their favourite Sanrio characters with a minimum $80 spend in a single receipt, with passes limited to the first 30 redemptions per session.

Pasir Ris Mall celebrates the season with Moonlit Wonder, its Mid-Autumn Festival campaign running from now to 4 October, with festive decorations and activities taking place around the mall. Here’s what to look out for:

Moonlit Bunny Adventure Stamp Collection (now to 27 September): Spend $30 in a single receipt to redeem a stamp card at the Level 2 Customer Service Counter, and visit all nine stations to collect Moonlit Bunny stickers. Complete the full card to redeem a special gift, limited to the first 800 completed cards.

Celestial Lantern Experience, L2 Event Space (25 September):

2. Refresh Your Wardrobe Sustainably at Parkway Parade

As part of Lendlease Malls’ A New Lease of Life campaign, Cloop’s Open Wardrobe returns to Parkway Parade’s Basement Airwell from 23 to 29 September, offering shoppers an easy way to refresh their wardrobes more sustainably.

3. Try Japan's Newest Hamburg Steak at Lau Pa Sat


Foodies can add a Japanese hamburg steak stop to their weekend plans as Yamamoto’s Hamburg, also known as “Yamahan”, makes its Singapore debut at Lau Pa Sat and will open to the public from 22 September, ahead of its official opening on 5 October.

The Signature Yamamoto Hamburg (S$19.90) leads the lineup, featuring a hand-formed beef patty stuffed with Gorgonzola cheese and mushroom cream sauce, finished with a miso-and-dashi-infused demi-glace. 

Other options include the Jikasei Hamburg (S$17.90), hot pot-style Kimchi Cheese Hamburg (S$19.90), and the refreshing Goma Yuzu Ponzu and Oni Oroshi Ponzu Hamburgs (S$15.90 each). 

For something created specially for Singapore, diners can also try the Singapore-exclusive chicken patty, offering a local twist on Yamahan’s signature hamburger.
