2. MICHELIN-Selected Unagi Yondaime Kikukawa opens at Raffles City Singapore
Unagi lovers have a new destination to add to their list with the opening of Unagi Yondaime Kikukawa’s second Singapore outlet at Raffles City Singapore. The new restaurant builds on the brand’s growing presence in Singapore while marking an important international milestone — its 50th outlet globally.
Rooted in Japanese culinary tradition, Unagi Yondaime Kikukawa has built its reputation around carefully prepared unagi and dedication to quality and consistency. Its craftsmanship has also earned its recognition as a MICHELIN selected restaurant, affirming its place among noteworthy dining destinations.
To celebrate the new restaurant, it will introduce a new dish, the Unagi Mountain, available exclusively only at this outlet. Designed as a showstopping centrepiece for unagi enthusiasts, the dish showcases the restaurant’s signature grilled eel in a presentation that lives up to its name.
Diners can also enjoy the restaurant’s signature dishes like the Kabayaki Ippon Jyu Set, a luxuriant whole eel presented beautifully in traditional style, or the Histumabushi Set, a Nagoya specialty traditionally enjoyed in three ways.
3. Yamamoto’s Hamburg: Enjoy home-style Japanese favourites at Lau Pa Sat
Yamamoto’s Hamburg (affectionately known in Japan as “Yamahan”) has opened its first Singapore outlet at Lau Pa Sat, bringing comforting flavours of Japanese-style hamburg steaks locally.
The concept was inspired by the warmth and familiarity of home-cooked meals – the kind of food made with care and enjoyed around the family table. That spirit continues to shape the restaurant today, with a philosophy centred on fresh ingredients, thoughtful preparation and warm Japanese hospitality.
At the heart of its menu is the signature Yamamoto Hamburg, featuring Yamahan’s signature hand-formed beef patty. Guests can complement their meal with the restaurant’s home-made fresh vegetable juice, another signature that reflects its focus on fresh ingredients.
Singapore diners will also have something uniquely their own to try: a Singapore-exclusive chicken patty, created especially for the brand’s local debut.
4. Grab Delicious Yakitori at the new Torikizoku Express at One Raffles Place
For CBD workers looking for a tasty meal in the CBD, Torikizoku Express brings a fresh twist to one of Japan’s well-loved dishes.
Torikizoku Express opens its doors in Singapore as the world’s grab-and-go version of the popular yakitori concept.
This new format was built with office workers in mind, fitting perfectly into a workday, offering a quick lunch or takeaway option that saves time and still tastes great. With its prices and fast service, Torikizoku Express makes eating well on the go easy and stress-free.
Asides from the signature yakitori, the menu also includes onigiri and bento sets for variety and convenience. With its familiar Japanese taste and format built for fast-paced city life, Torikizoku Express is ready to become a go-to lunch spot for office workers.
