In celebration of the 30th anniversary of Sanrio's golden retriever character, JAPAN RAIL CAFE is hosting its first limited-time Pompompurin collaboration called "Pompompurin Tohoku Trip."
The event runs from 4 May to 14 June 2026, inviting fans and families to explore the charm of Northeast Japan alongside Pompompurin. Activities include Tohoku-inspired food and drinks, photo opportunities, and travel seminars, all centered around a food-and-fandom theme.
The food menu begins with Pompompurin Curry Rice ($22.90), featuring egg-shaped rice styled after the character, served in a rich curry alongside vegetables and chicken karaage. Another dish is the Inaniwa Udon Onsen Bath ($18), with thin silky noodles in a beef broth inspired by Akita's regional cuisine, evoking the flavors of Northeast Japan.
For drinks, guests can choose from the After Onsen Banana Milk ($9.90), the Yuzu Citron Cream Float ($8) with vanilla ice cream, or round off the meal with the Pompompurin Pudding Parfait ($12.90), a caramel pudding-inspired dessert topped with whipped cream.
Every order comes with a free gift: a desk mat with a main course, a coaster with a drink, or a magnet with a dessert — all themed around the collaboration.
